How do you handle vocal comping?

We record multiple full passes of each section, then select the best phrases from each take to build a complete, definitive performance. We review the comp with you before the session ends.

What if my pitch needs correction after recording?

Light pitch correction is part of the mixing process rather than the recording session. We don't apply heavy tuning at the recording stage — the goal is a natural, strong performance that stands on its own.

Do you record harmonies and backing vocals?

Yes. Harmonies and backing vocals are recorded in the same session and exported as separate tracks. Make sure you factor them into your session length when booking.

Can I hear myself in headphones while I sing?

Yes. We set up a monitor mix in the headphones before recording starts — typically your vocal with some reverb and your instrumental. You can adjust the balance to suit how you like to hear yourself.

Should I warm up before the session?

Yes — arrive having already warmed up your voice. A cold voice recorded in the first 20 minutes is harder to comp and may need more takes. If you need a few minutes on arrival to settle in, that's fine.

What file formats do you deliver?

All files are delivered as 24-bit WAV at the project sample rate, typically 44.1kHz or 48kHz. We can also convert to MP3 or other formats on request.
