What Mixing Actually Does
Mixing is the process of taking all the individual recorded elements of a song — vocals, instruments, drums, beats, FX — and balancing them so they work together as a single, cohesive piece of music. It involves adjusting levels, applying EQ to separate frequencies, compressing dynamics to sit elements in the right space, adding reverb and delay for dimension, and making creative decisions about what should be prominent and what should sit back.
A good mix makes a track sound professional on any playback system — earphones, car speakers, a club sound system, or laptop speakers. A weak mix sounds right on one system and falls apart on another.
The StudioToGo Mixing Chain
Our mixing chain is analog hybrid: the session runs in the DAW (Pro Tools or Logic) but passes through outboard hardware during the mix. The SSL Fusion adds glue and analogue character to the stereo bus. The Manley Massive Passive EQ shapes the tonal balance with a musicality that software EQ rarely matches. The Tube-Tech CL1B handles bus compression with smooth, musical gain reduction. These are not plugins — they are the physical hardware versions, and the difference is audible.
Sessionwire live mixing: Every mix includes a Sessionwire video call where you're in the room remotely, directing the session. You hear changes as they're made and give feedback in real time. This is how we ensure the mix sounds the way you intended it.

Sending Your Session
Export stems or individual tracks from your DAW as WAV files, all starting from bar 1, with 3dB of headroom on the mix bus. Remove any mix bus limiting or mastering plugins before exporting. Send via WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive. If you recorded with us, files are already in the system.
Pricing
Mixing is AED 1,800 per song, which includes the Sessionwire live session and two revisions. The mix + master bundle is AED 2,100, saving AED 100 compared to booking separately. For EP and album pricing, see our full pricing page.
